Featured Artists at Amapola Gallery in June, Reception 6/2

Both wearable and wall art are celebrated in “Adornments,” with works by Amapola Gallery Featured Artists jeweler Jeanette Easley and painter Kay Richards.
Jeanette Easley creates her jewelry with one-of-a-kind designs and less-commonly used materials. She has a line of earrings and pendants using delightfully re-purposed silver-plated trays. Her creations in copper wire and sheet copper include teeny hand-raised and design-stamped bowls, as well as earrings, necklaces and more. Stylized female figures and a line of jewelry are created from tiny, intricately-woven and brightly-colored glass seed beads. Adorn yourself!
Colorist painter Kay Richards delights in the brilliant hues of the Southwest. Her media include water, acrylic and oils. A mixed media series of red rocks, towering cliffs and mesa landscapes captures the spirit of New Mexico. Equally vibrant are her floral portraits, like the intense “Red Poppies II” which will be included in the show. Adorn a dark corner of your home with a glorious, bright Richards’ painting.
